Message from the ACED President
Frederick Tey
On behalf of ACED, I invite you to join a global gathering of Human Factors and Ergonomics experts from August 3–5, 2026. In collaboration with HFESS and the IEA, we will host a three-day conference celebrating 40 years of HFE in Singapore, featuring distinguished speakers and over 300 participants from around the world.
"This is a momentous event for both ACED and HFESS. It aims to bring together researchers, academics, and practitioners from around the world to exchange knowledge, ideas, and experiences across various areas of ergonomics."
We are proud to host this event in Singapore, a nation whose Smart Nation 2.0 vision exemplifies thoughtful digital transformation. Building on Prime Minister Lawrence Wong's 2025 discussions with President Xi Jinping on AI and the digital economy, this conference brings together thought leaders, practitioners, students, and policymakers from Asia and beyond.
This year’s programme features keynotes from global HFE and AI experts, workshops, student challenges, design awards, and site visits to innovation hubs. We are also pleased to launch two new HFESS initiatives: the Human-Centered Design Award, honouring inclusive, innovative design, and the Human-Centered Design Challenge, enabling students to prototype solutions for healthier, more inclusive societies.
To our partners—HFESS, SUSS, Temasek Polytechnic, and all participating organisations—thank you for your support in fostering cross-cultural learning, regional cooperation, and purposeful innovation.
Let us listen, collaborate, and co-create. The future of ergonomics and design depends on shared values, collaborative solutions, and lasting partnerships. Embrace the spirit of this conference: be bold, compassionate, and collaborative, shaping a future where technology uplifts humanity and design leaves no one behind.
Thank you, and I wish you all an inspiring ACED 2026.
